What can you do in 12 weeks? We bet you accomplish a lot in 12 weeks that you don’t even realize. You can reorganize your living room, finish several books, and make a 12-foot long paperclip chain. But those skills aren’t really in demand when it comes to looking for employment, are they?
When it comes to education, we always think of learning new skills as taking a long time. Skills come from training, education, and practice, but it doesn’t need to take you 2-4 years. Employers are looking for people with skills training who are ready to start and can be depended on. So it is very important to get that training, what if you could do it in months, rather than years?
Skills training can seem intimidating, especially when you are stepping onto a totally new career path. But done right, you can be ready for work and feel confident you are on the way to a bright new future.

Clear Candy Crush in 12 weeks! Or you could…
In 12 weeks, you could be ready for an entry-level job in office administration, where you can organize your way to a paycheck. With strong skills in reception and keyboarding, you can keep adding to your abilities as you work on a co-op placement. Then you can work with our Employment Services team to find work that matters to you. You’ll be ready for anything the administrative life throws at you. Instead of keeping that high level score, you’ll have the opportunity to start a new career in 12 weeks.
Build 2 months of LEGO creations or make your love of building a career!
If you are starting to think that you would rather build Lego art in your spare time, maybe you can think about your career that way. Constructing projects, figuring out designs, and following directions are all part of building with LEGOs, and you can take that knowledge and apply it to a career. Move beyond snapping pieces together. Pick up a screwdriver and measuring tape, and get ready to learn how to build big projects using your passion for creating.
Construction Technology Training helps you learn the ins and outs of construction in 9 weeks. Afterwards, when you step onto a job site the first time, you’ll be confident and overcoming first job jitters will be easy. You could get frustrated by trying to figure out the million little pieces of LEGOs in a building kit (Check out their LEGO® NINJAGO® City Markets, it’s a doozy!).
Or you could take all of that interest you have for building and learn what to do and how to do it to create real-sized houses that become homes for others. You can even take those skills and continue to develop them after your first placement, so that you can eventually move on to bigger projects and roles with seniority.

Spend two months organizing your socks… or find a new in-demand career!
Sorting out your clothes can seem like a great idea… until you start doing it. One lost sock becomes ten, and suddenly you have no matching pairs. So you try to sort your kitchen and decide to do some quality checks. You begin turning all those canned goods around to look for expiration dates or emptying your fridge … but after two months, you’ll be bored and your organizing will be half-finished.
But in 2 months, you could be on your way to a new job, working in logistics and manufacturing in a variety of roles available to new graduates. You’ll learn organizational skills, figure out what it means to check for quality, get to know the ins and outs of inventory, and drive machines like forklifts. These are skills that companies need and pay for. Having that know-how can make it easier for you to get into the manufacturing industry.
How do you spend your time? Being distracted? Or learning Skills?
According to World Metrics, people tend to procrastinate on tasks that they find boring. We all know the feeling of putting off a task we don’t want to do. However, when procrastination impacts your career goals, the consequences can be significant. The thought of a multi-year degree can feel overwhelming, leaving you to dread the long road ahead. The time and money invested can feel like a high-risk gamble, and you might question whether you’ll even feel prepared for the job at the end of it all.
